Trilingual Program

  1. Introduction

In alignment with our school’s vision to cultivate globally competent and linguistically proficient students, we propose the implementation of a Trilingual Program focused on English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia. This program aims to build practical communication skills, cultural understanding, and confidence in using multiple languages in daily interactions.

  1. Program Objectives:

  1. Develop Multilingual Communication Skills:

    • Enable students to confidently use English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia in daily classroom and social interactions.

  2. Enhance Cultural Awareness:

    • Promote appreciation of diverse cultures through language learning.

  3. Foster Practical Language Use:

    • Focus on real-life phrases and expressions for classroom, social, and practical situations.

  4. Encourage Collaboration:

    • Integrate language learning through interactive activities, peer collaboration, and inter-class competitions.

  1. Program Structure:

  1. Weekly Language Days:

    • Monday: Bahasa Indonesia

    • Tuesday & Wednesday: English Days

    • Thursday & Friday: Arabic Days

  2. Classroom Language Focus:

    • Weekly target phrases tailored to Grades 1–3.

    • Posters and visual aids to reinforce learning.

  3. Biweekly Activities:

    • Week 2: Multilingual Bingo

      • Students use Bingo cards with phrases from English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia. The teacher calls out phrases in one language, and students mark the corresponding translation on their cards. Winners can call the next round or receive small prizes.

    • Week 4: Role-Play Scenarios

      • Students practice classroom and social language phrases in small groups through teacher-guided role-play scenarios. Example: Asking for permission or introducing themselves.

    • Week 8: Phrase Treasure Hunt

      • Clues and phrases are hidden around the classroom or school. Students work in teams to find and translate them correctly to win.

  4. Inter-Class Competitions:

    • Timing: Every 6 weeks.

    • Structure:

      • Round 1: All students in the grade participate in activities like spelling bees, role-plays, or vocabulary challenges.

      • Round 2: Winning teams from each class advance to a grade-level semifinal.

  5. End-of-Term Assembly:

    • Participants: All students, particularly Semi Finalists and finalists from the inter-class competitions.

    • Features:

      • Semifinal Stage: The top teams compete in a high-energy round featuring translation tasks, phrase recall, and storytelling.

      • Final Stage: The two best teams from the semifinals compete for the championship in a “Trilingual Challenge.” This includes:

        1. Spelling multilingual words.

        2. Translating short sentences.

        3. Acting out mini-skits in all three languages.

      • Grade Performances: Each grade will present a creative performance, such as multilingual song, a short play, storytelling, etc.

Goal: Celebrate the program’s success and showcase student progress.
